This is a station that picks up a world next door. In that world the Great War ended in a reconciliation instead of a punishment, and the century went a different way. Flying boats stayed the long-haul. A magazine Teddy Roosevelt founded in 1924 still costs fifteen cents. A family keeps a converted PBY Catalina, the Wanderlark, at a lake in the Idaho panhandle.
What leaks through ends up here. Nothing is arranged. Wander.

what is the strain?
Enchantment of known reality. The romantics were wrong but beautiful; here they get to be right and beautiful. The world comes first and the story obeys it. Miyazaki, Verne, Cousteau. A peak modernism that kept its wonder.
Now is a golden age; we stand at the peak of all known human order; and the future is greater still.
